An upstairs downstairs tale for village players

YLP News Team, Friday 5 May 2017

WHO Were You With Last Night? is the question being posed at Heacham next week when the village’s Pocahontas Players take to the stage.

Based on an original script by Janice Curtis, it was first performed by the Players as a drama over 18 years ago.

The story centres around loss and love and the apparent differences between the landed gentry life of those upstairs, to the life led by the staff from downstairs.

The play is set in Lord and Lady Ribchester’s London residence around 1920 and centres around the return of their son Rueben from his years in Colonial India. It follows the profound changes he brings on the ordered life of the household.

Janice has included songs of the era throughout the production to help vary it from the original drama. Performances will be held at Heacham Public Hall in Station Road on Friday, May 12 at 7.30pm with two performances on Saturday, May 13 at 2pm and 7.30pm ,

Tickets are available from Janice on 01485 570402 or Jim on 01485 571267 and cost £8 (stalls) and £9 (for raised seats which are selling fast).
